I think Moyes will have to take that one on the chin. That result is 100% his fault. You can't go away from home and play for a nil nil, it's just not going to happen.
He should have gone there with two up front and played for the away goal. They would have got it had they done that, sitting back all night against them was always going to end up with them scoring a lucky one somewhere. Veloso is a quality player, I have no idea what he's doing at Sporting. Yannick looks a more than decent player too, echos of Ronaldo's athleticism, skill and lack of a final product at this stage.
For the final 15 minutes they pushed up a bit, Baines and Neville finding it so easy to get forward, but too little too late. I cannot believe we've lost to them, it should have been over at Goodison and they will be out once they come up against a side with a bit more about them tactically.
We'll forgive him. It's not like he's spent hundreds of millions on superstars and still ends up with a squad that cannot compete for the Premier League.

I think it's fair to admit Moyes is the best manager in the league, i.e. the world. You would think that with Everton being the form side in world football right now, they'd have walked all over Sporting.
