Can i just say, can we please consider others "further down the shed" who have stood in the same place for 20/30/40 years who may feel the same as we currently do if us noisy louts move around them/in their places!

They'll probably just give us the silent treatment... well that is what they are good at

I thought The Shed started to go downhill from about about the second year of our return to SL - circa 1998. In the stand we used to have some amusing fans who would make us laugh when we were playing poorly by coming up with some smart comment, we would get excited by scoring a try even if we were getting hammered and it was a friendly place to be. Maybe I am being a tad misty-eyed but I preferred the atmosphere and feel of the place when we were in the lower leagues than what it has been like since c1998.
EDIT I actually feel sorry for the Salford fans who didn't watch us from The Shed in the late 80s and 90's. The Shed was a great place to be. I have been lucky enough to be some great stadiums and watch some big events in football, RL, cricket and tennis. Nothing compares IMO to many of the occasions I had in The Shed at that time, even when we got beat. Great days

Noisy, yes, louts, no. Passionate, yes, offensive, no. I'm sure they'll enjoy our company and appreciate that we are different from the aformentioned moronic, simpleton, borderline racist, nouveaux hooligans currently dominating the left side.
Or, we could always stay where we are and continue to endure miserable Friday nights at Salford... We certainly can't move them and direct action would result in violence which I'm pretty adament none of us want.

They probably have been in a Holt's pub, on the Diamond Lager, which might be precisely why they do act this way.
Back on topic, I'm a bit old for singing at games, but it's a real pity that very little noise now comes from the shed. As everyone says, it used to be electric, noisy, hostile (in a decent way), and entertaining. I think everyone is just a little fed up of watching whichever team we assemble invariably get outplayed.
And I'm now almost certain that given the franchise safety net, the club board and possibly the management are far more concerned about precisely where we will be in 2 years, rather than who we are playing this coming weekend.
It's all bit sad really, but perhaps someone can re-ignite the fire rearding match night atmosphere.
As for the idiots, let's hope they lose faith far sooner than most Turkey users never did.

I've said the same recently, quality days. I've still not moved from my spot, I've seen plenty come and go (or can't hack it )! I don't think you'll ever get those days back but if anyone wants any lessons just go buy yourself a few old micron videos from that era!

Good stuff this boys. I'm starting to feel more positive about the Bradford game already! Think we should all meet up in either The Tav or VC before the game and march en-masse towards The Shed singing "Shed Army" . That would be quality.

In fact theres a few of you on here who have many of the old videos, just a thought but if someones got the time and the know-how, you could put a compilation of shed shots singing along with game play singing on to a DVD and show that in the VC before a game?
You can pay my royalties later

How apt.
