We never looked like scoring when we had the ball, very basic, boring rugby which can sometimes be effective, however with a poor kicking game and little ground gained by our forwards this was never going to work. Very little imagination which was disappointing as it was clear we were never going to beat them in the middle (clints break the exception) and their pack won the tackle or 'wrestle', never allowing us a quick play the ball.
To be fair, wigan played well and didnt make that many errors in costly positions, most of our sets were started deep in our own half where we struggled to get out from. Their attack was good and they looked dangerous whenever it went wide, where there was some shocking reads and generally poor defending from our boys.
I think we looked flat in everything we did, the forwards not running with real intent and the passing and play the ball extremely slow. We never lifted the intensity or did anything different, even when we were well behind on the scoreboard, although i dont want to take anything away from wigan who were very good.
Hope briscoe recovers asap and apparently cooke has done his wrist again?
Pretty good summary IMO
