So why is this only an issue for Clinton? Other clubs' overseas signings this year don't appear to have had this issue and the same rulings apply to all, surely?

By all accounts he didn't fill in the form correctly and didn't provide this information, hence it having to be chased up blah blah

You're seriously suggesting after all the issues had by FC, Leeds, Crusaders, Bradford and Huddersfield over visa applications last year, that Rovers didn't check the form first? FC were very clear publicly that they were using specialists in this field to validate the applications of Fitzgibbon and O'Meley and avoid any mistakes hence them getting here for mid November.

Exactly. Suggesting Rovers would be stupid/incompetent/tight@rse enough to leave the application to chance after the hideous experiences of half of SL in 2009 is ludicrous.

That's exactly to do with his visa. One of the new requirements is that you can support yourself before you get here. I'm surprised that Rovers haven't sorted that out tbh. They have an "A" rating under the new Home Office system and can certify the support needed. Could have been done ages ago. (thats a freebie btw, but any more and I'll have to charge )

According to today's Express 'sources in Australia' are saying the delay is due to the RFL being unable to ratify the Clinton deal because Rovers are struggling to fit him under the salary cap. Sorry no link as yet but it is in the paper. Says Rovers may need to release a player. Wasn't this speculated about previously ?
