It's been a while since I posted a message on here so hello to those who's missed me.

Regarding the Dalton game on Saturday the pitch was inspected Saturday AM and was deemed that it would be playable later that day. St Helens Council left the decision down to referee's discretion rather than close all pitches.

When both teams went upto the pitch, the pitch was playable except 2 areas around the half way mark. These areas had freshly re-frozen from the original inspection. The referee then deemed that the pitch was unsuitable to play.

We fulfilled our obligation of inspecting the pitch before hand and we are sorry that the game couldn't have been played.

Regarding our team numbers for the game, the rumours that are going round are totally untrue and I'd like to say that we had no Under 18s playing on Saturday.

Not at all. We have loads of players signed on but they aren't all available for the matches. We have also lost a few back room volunteers and were stretched with two teams. I may be Superwoman but I was struggling to cope with two teams! I told Ron that it was unfair on the other teams in the division for us to keep on forfeiting. We have not folded, disbanded or anything else. We have withdrawn from the league but I hope we can get some friendlies when the players are able to commit to play. It's hard times and work has to come first - can't blame any lads for that.

And Woolston A played in division 6 so it had nothing to do with West Bank!

west bank wrote:well thats how close it is cowiesarse. i remember last time i travelled to your place. it was the most physical game i have played in my life. it was also my favourite. there the best games to be involved in even though we were hammered 36-10 it was quality i just hope your ready for next time round because i no we will be  . i do beleive if we win that game we could possibly go on to win the league, and if your lot win it then promotion could be on the cards.

Well Mr Bank, as I remember for the 36-10 win we were all pretty pumped because we had lost at your place earlier in the season and we had something to prove

And yes, as I remember there were some bone crunchers that day....and still say it was our best performance of last season, that one and Leigh central away.

It's all about the run in!!

Sad to see Woolston A folding, have to say though when I came watching Woolston First v MB last week, I barely recognised 30% of the players on the pitch, looks like the decks have been shuffled. The games this weekend look like Bankers on Paper. Think the Dalton v Ulv will be a good game. Ulverston rolled Dalton last week in some Cumbrian cup I think.

More snow as we speak in sunny wigan though! :FRUSRATED:

No ringers in our team for any games and we have only played ulverston from cumbrian teams, not played hindpool yet, so your talking crap.

Ulverston beat us last week in the barton townley cup (barrow and district) 36-10 and they were the better team and up for it more than us, same in league last time.

Moss bank, we asked what pitch was like because there was ice all around the changing rooms, you's said it has'nt been checked yet but it'll be fine. The pitch was rock hard, not refrozen. your players who said you had a lot missing. Local ref should check it, not council.

With reference to the above though, I'm not sayin that there were ringers in Woolstons side....but a few new faces. Same with MB, and you could tell with the standard of rugby.

Just because our newer players haven't played against you in the past doesn't mean they are not our players. I don't do 'ringers' and I am quite insulted at the suggestion.

And to stop the rumours now, we have lost two players to the Wizards. One had only played for us 5 times and one hasn't played this season. But if you want to carry on thinking that we have a problem go ahead. We'll do our talking on the pitch! We were rubbish against Moss Bank and still won, but I do think these long breaks between games due to weather will prove to be a leveller come the end of the season.
