I was thinking of getting the train but is it far to the ground from the station?

Yeah its a fair distance, but a few drinks in the town centre than a taxi to grounds are plan.

The train station is the same place as the bus interchange so its about a £2.40 return to the ground. The 43 Frequento Stagecoach bus run every 30mins but you can also get the 41/42 which are both Stagecoach busses. They stop pretty much right outside the ground.
Depending on what time you arrive I would suggest that if you leave the Interchange and go for a walk in the city centre and want food there is a Nando's, Naked Fish (lovely fresh fish dishes also do steaks), Subway, Greggs and Prezzo all located in St Stephens which is just to the left of the Interchange.
If however you want a Pizza Hutt or McDonalds just go straight over the dual carriagway and walk down the side of Hammonds about two thirds of the way down you will come to Pizza Hutt and at the top near the pelican crossings you will see McDonalds on the right. Around this area there is also a Subway and Greggs.
If however you are coming straight to the ground we would advise that for a friendly atmosphere and chat with other Rugby League supporters if you carry on past the main gates for Craven Park (down Poor House Lane) you will come to Soccer Sensations which is opened on match days for all supporters to enjoy relatively cheap drinks and kids can play on the 5-a-side pitches.
I hope you have a good day and yes if you want to go in other areas of the ground you can now buy your tickets online from the Hull KR website and I believe you can print off your tickets which are all barcoded. Unlike Leeds though I dont think you can purchase a junior ticket and get away with it if you are in fact a 30yr old with a big grufty beard!!!!!
