Probably the worst Rumble event I've ever seen.

Roofs wrote:Had a great night at TNA on Friday, really enjoyable show overall. Thought the opening match was probably the best, with not having Sky I hadn't seen much of Amazing Red's work - superstar in the making right there (if used correctly obviously).
Highlights for me were:

* Desmond Wolfe - fantastic on the mike, and solid match with Angle
* The Pope - this guy's got serious potential, what the hell were WWE thinking letting him go?!
* The main event - plenty of comedy and entertainment, didn't realise how over Beer Money Inc are, superb stuff
* The atmosphere
* Dixie Carter mingling with fans all night, full credit to her (managed to get her autograph! :D ).

Took a few pics, not very good because was only using an 8.1 megapixel camera phone, but will post them up when get chance.

Only gripes were:

* The Ladder match - what happened?! :o Somehow became a kind of tag-team match between the 4, very wierd + disappointing they went against what they had advertised. :? :(
* No Tara.

Joking apart though great show, will definitely be there when they next tour. TNA! TNA!  :)

Let me give my two pence on what was a thouroughly disgusting and rather poor attempt at pro wrestling:

-They had a six sided ring. Now wait, wasn't the last PPV all about the 'Genesis' of the 'New' TNA? And the 'New' TNA used a four sided ring?

-A five man ladder match was the main event - a massive [well on bravo] TV campaign was shown many times for at least a couple of months. What do we get? It seemed to me that someone had forgotten to bring a proper TNA Ladder Match Ladder, they had a crappy step ladder with steps on one side only in the ring prior to the match. Again, more failure to deliver by TNA.

- Kurt Angle 'quits' on last weeks Impact, but yet he is wrestling on this show, seemingly without a care in the world?

-They didn't let ANY of the English talent stay over as faces in their home country. Nigel McGuinness, Doug Williams & Brutus Magnus all remained heels. With the latter two not even getting any mike time & got buried in the main event. The only Brit who they kept over as a face was big meat head juice man Rob Terry - AND HE ISN'T EVEN ENGLISH! He's from Wales.

The wrestling wasn't even up to much. The X Division match was flat, The main event was on halfway through the show. The last match of the card was basically a squash match - SQUASHING TWO ENGLISH GUYS!

As my first ever TNA lvie experience I can honestly say that GPW at the Monaco in Hindley put on a far superior show, with one millionth the budget of TNA and one tenth of the talent pool. I wouldn't suggest a TNA live event unless you want to go home having watched the most lackluster, unintelegable garbage this side of a CZW show.

pretty bad wasn't it, apart from CM Punk it was in the main a good example of how not to book a royal rumble match.

Punk in the Rumble was class. Up there with Jericho as the best heel now. Would have loved to see him depict every man one by one, and for him to keep chatting in between!

Far too many eliminations early on. Is it just me, or is Serena hot for a bald chick?
