Quote:Crusaders fans are advised to get their tickets sooner rather than later for the Leeds Rhinos clash at The Racecourse this Friday (kick-off 8pm) as the game is heading for a sell-out.
Around 800 tickets were sold this Monday giving the Crusaders a new record crowd four days before kick-off! It will also be a record rugby league crowd for the ground itself beating the 6,373 fans who turned up to watch an exciting Wales v England match in Wrexham in 2001 which saw England win 42-33, the last rugby league match to be played at The Racecourse before this week's much anticipated encounter.
Last week, ticket sales had already topped the 5,597 crowd figure for last year's encounter with Leeds Rhinos in Newport as well as last year's well-publicised engage Super League home opener in Bridgend that drew 5,272 fans to a classic match against Hull FC.
Crusaders' previous home record crowd was 6,351 against St Helens in Bridgend last year. That is now gone and the only question now is how high it is going to rise.
The club are sending out a message saying "Don't wait until the day before buying your tickets. If they carry on selling at this rate, you may be disappointed."
Fantastic news, should be a great evening. Hopefully many of the fans will return for future games.

If they can't sell a home match against the Super League Champions in the first ever SL match at Wrexham, then ther really would be little hope for the clubs future.
I can think of at least 5 clubs in the Championship who would attract 8,000+ crowds for such a fixture.

I hope you aren't including Halifax in the 5 as recent history would prove otherwise!
"Arguably the best Rugby League side certainly in the last 40 years!" Phil Clarke.
