Fitz and a Widnes player sent off because Fitz was head tackled and then threw a punch. The ref allowed both sides to field 13 in the second half providing those two players were kept off. Although this did lead to the rather daft situation where Widnes had a man sinbinned after the team was warned a couple of times for play the ball infringements, only for the man to be replaced by a sub.

Holdsworth again showed some classy touches when he came on, and Tyrer played like a guy who's really fighting to make the first team.
