The stats clearly show that Murrell isn’t a poor tackler at all. The only reason he misses the amount of tackles that he does is due to the high number of tackles he attempts.

At this moment in time Briscoe maybe is ahead of Tansey, but Tansey has alot of potential and is more dangerous with ball in hand imo so looking to the future I would rather have him. Newton comes under the bracket of one of those players who is no doubt talented, but wouldn't really improve us, I certainly wouldn't swap him for Manu or Fitzgibbon, and besides I think Galea is a better all round player (although I do think Newton is better than Tickle).
As for Fox, tbf he probably is better than Calderwood, but they both offer different things, and Dobson is a good player but has a long way to go before he is in the same class as Long (either that or Long has to go on a steep decline). There isn't a single front rower who would improve us, although that could change if you get Clinton (a year or two back I would have said Vella but his body is now shot). Cooke has gone massively down hill since he left us, Webster is too similar to Yeaman and I don't rate Whelam at all. Have I missed anyone?

Not really, stats tell half the story, Danny Orr made more try assists than anyone last year, does that make him the best half back in superleague. We'll see this year who is the best, Long already has first blood after the derby and I know where my money would be going.

take away the kicks(as newton does not kick as justin said if he kicks another ball he will break his f***ing legs) and its 8-5 to newton and even though tickle had 44 more carries he gained 168 m less

Where do you get 8 from? Are you including appearances?
It's 7-6 to Newton at best, but since Tickle makes more metres per game I would call it 7-6 to Tickle.

I agree stats only tell half the story, the other half is made up of the fact Dobbo was regarded as the stand out number 7 in the comp last year, SL dream team position would tend to back this up. Long was only making headlines as to who his successor would be at Saints when they let him go. Likewise Clint Newton was also recognised as one of the best two 2nd rowers in SL, again backed up by his dream team inclusion the other who pushed him close was Galea.. Tickle again made the headlines only due to him looking like being shipped out by Hull to Wire.
