Going by what I've seen (and I havn't seen him as much as you guys obviously) he seems solid yet unspectacular. He doesn't seem to make many mistakes and he returns the ball reasonably well but never looks like he is going to bust tackles or beat a man for pace.

As I said, a solid player, but I wouldn't take him ahead of any of any of the wingers in our squad.

If its during the game and its a fight or big hits that put them down then crack on in my book - it was the fact he hit him whilst already down on his back.

It was Lauaki who put Dobson down, I saw it clearly. It was pretty late and should have really been a penalty but it was just a shoulder barge and Dobson got straight up. Newton on the other hand raised his forearm and hit Long in the side of the head. Had it not been a friendly (or if Ganson had been reffing) he may well have walked, although I'm not sure if the ref saw it, I think it may have been the touch judge who told him to give a penalty.

So Hull fans wouldn't swap any of their wingers for Colbon and Rovers fans wouldn't swap Colbon for any of Hulls wingers.

Interesting..............

Unless...any of them were to swap sides and then International honours will be only just around the corner.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Shows what a big factor club bias is. You guys have already had their say about Calderwood, but if you were offered Briscoe, or even Reece Lyne who looks an excellent prospect, who you still keep Colbon over them?

I would deffo take Briscoe but as a centre so the comparison is irrelevant. Reece Lynn though an excellent prospect isn't ready for SL yet so as things stand Colbon offers Rovers what they need and Lynn doesn't so i'm pretty sure he wouldn't get in Rovers side over Colbon.

BTW I also remember what the majority of Hull fans thought of Calderwood prior to him signing for Hull  :)

Thats true, and tbf people thought the same after we had signed him. We were expecting him to be a whinger and lazy but so far he has been the complete opposite. I can see why fans of other clubs dislike him though.

I think rovers need different type of wingers to Hull. Our team isn't the biggest and we expect our wingers to put in a lot of hard yards. Hull have more grunt in the forward line so utilise the wingers in a more conventional see a hole and run fashion. Thats probably why we will both see the positives of our own players.

I think Colbon was a shrewd signing for Rovers because he was a round peg for a round hole, not because of his merits relative to Hull players.
