Squad been the operative word mate.
Rovers had a squad of 24, and everyone was used correct? Hull played their strongest 17 (barring yeaman and berrigan?).
For you to read into the victory as a sign of where the teams will finish is a joke. Unless the league is won in the first pre season friendly now :?

Sounded like the youngsters showed a little inexperience by not being subtle enough when trying to win the floor which resulted in a 17-5 penalty count against but the good thing is that the youngsters showed their mettle by defending against a experienced FC pack.

Our coach purposefully made some positional changes (in terms of sides of the field as well) to make the players feel uncomfortable yet they stood up well.

Justin said on the radio he may use Webster at 6 some times this season which could be interesting if he is given some time to settle into the role with our strongest pack on the field...

Your pack struggled to make yards and we seemed to get over the advantage line pretty easily but I thought that your goal line defence was superb. On the topic of the penalties I think it was due to your pack not being physically big enough to dominate the tackle rather than not being subtle enough. Some of the penalties were deserved but I think the ref was a bit whistle happy and you may have got away with a bit more with another ref.

Out of interest what will your first choice 17 be this year?

We actually played our strongest 20. Hull KR played there strongest 25. Yes, we could have played the likes of J Briscoe and Tuffour, but I don't see it neccesary. They are obviously not in contention for the first game of the season, and with only one more friendly to go (which is likely to be primarily youth) why would you not play the strongest possible team to get a view of players in different positions?

Judging by squad numbers it's probably gonna look something like:

FB Briscoe
LW Fox
LC Whelam
RC Webster
RW Colbon
SO Cooke
SH Dobson
OSP Vella
H Murrell
BSP Clinton
LSR Walker
RSR Newton
LF Galea

Fisher
Cook
Lovegrove
Wheeldon

Though I really don't know how things will pan out because the team line up always seems to be nothing like fans expect (not that many complain).

really? cant see that at all, Websters big problem is lack of agility, putting him in the middle of the park where he is going up against big hitters when he is attacking and nippy little guys when defending seems a recipe for disaster.

He is hardly known for his ball handling skills or passing/kicking. I cant really see what he would bring to 6 at all

If Morgan thinks he isnt a centre (welcome to a couple of years ago) why not stick him back out on the wing where he has shown his quality or move him inside to 2nd row if he wanted to take advantage of his size?

IMO Justin Morgan is looking at the bigger after giving game time to a lot of fringe players and youngsters. With Briscoe only playing one half and the likes of captain Vella, Fox, Walker and Clinton ( plus another rumoured signing ) to come in i reckon it will be de ja vue regarding the league this season. Another top four finish IMHO.

Agar (and their fans) desperately needed a victory to lay a bogey but with (berrigan apart) their probable starting line up and apparently Long showing signs of age according to reports it looks it could be another long ( pardon the pun) season with a slightly better placing in the league.

Roll on the real derbies.

What reports? The ones in your small brain.

It is worring for both squads if Long is showing his age, but according to reports (real ones) that Long was the best player on the pitch on Sunday.

OK you win.

Long is the saviour. Hull will win the WCC and all other S.L. clubs may aswell forfeit the points to the new dads army. :D

Standing up to the forum bully.

It must be working, he doesn't like me...i'm devastated

I am now officially excited about the start of a new season. It can't be far away, like the first cuckoo heralding the dawn of spring, here comes good old SmokeyTA to tell us all once again (in case we weren't listening in 2007, 08 and 09) that Jake Webster is rubbish.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Would agree with that but purely on the basis of Sunday I think Ratu will be pushing Welham for his spot as he had a mare, but will have to see if it was just a one-off. I like the idea of Galea at 13 though, or even Cookey there but we need a class pacey SO in my opinion. No doubt first on Justin's shopping list for 2011?

No wonder other Rovers fans are embarrassed by you.

When did I say that we will win anything or Long is our saviour?

Basically you realised what you have said was rubbish, and tried to change the subject.

On the Dad's army point hasn't someone proved that Hulls squad average is younger than Rovers?

Over to you Bertie Boy.
