IMO Justin Morgan is looking at the bigger after giving game time to a lot of fringe players and youngsters. With Briscoe only playing one half and the likes of captain Vella, Fox, Walker and Clinton ( plus another rumoured signing ) to come in i reckon it will be de ja vue regarding the league this season. Another top four finish IMHO.
Agar (and their fans) desperately needed a victory to lay a bogey but with (berrigan apart) their probable starting line up and apparently Long showing signs of age according to reports it looks it could be another long ( pardon the pun) season with a slightly better placing in the league.

I think you missed the fact Rovers were mix and matching and giving their younger players game time.
Congrats it was your Cup Final.
Now lets get ready for the real derbies

Thought our young lads did really well against a pretty much full strength Hull side. We made alot of changes which didnt help the flow.
Main positves for me were Mike Ratu and Jake Websters performances. Scott Taylor had a pretty solid performance. Thought Ben Galea looked pretty good in the middle of the park to. I also thought Jason Netherton had a good game, seems to have added a bit of footwork to his game.
Some negatives, Kris Welham had a bit of a mare, Cookie wasnt really involved and the penalty count was horrendous (so much so that at one point I questioned as to whether we were doing it deliberately to get tackling practice!!!!)
and............................no injuries by the looks of it.

It means nothing to either side, just a run out
I expect Hull to be up there, they have signed well but more important they have got a coach to back up Agar.
Rovers will be there or abouts for a top 6, I think if we get Clinton we will be better equipped up front this season.
Looks like the derbies will be much closer.

Couldn't go to the game today due to other commitments but I listened to the last half-hour on the motorway and I'm really pleased with what I heard.
Sounded like the youngsters showed a little inexperience by not being subtle enough when trying to win the floor which resulted in a 17-5 penalty count against but the good thing is that the youngsters showed their mettle by defending against a experienced FC pack.
Our coach purposefully made some positional changes (in terms of sides of the field as well) to make the players feel uncomfortable yet they stood up well.
Justin said on the radio he may use Webster at 6 some times this season which could be interesting if he is given some time to settle into the role with our strongest pack on the field...

Jake webster looked really good playing in the middle of the park when he came on.

apart from fox and vella,it was your 1st team squad.walker isn't likely to play for a while, and clinton hasn't even got on a plane yet.a few injuries for you lot and you may struggle, tho'i will admit some of your younger players may come good.fc blooded the young un's early cos of injuries, and i reckon, you lot will be doing the same this season.don't forget we had berro, yeamo and burnett missing.
