I think you're missing the point. Rovers have named more players, granted, but have a settled core team that finished 4th in the regular season, and, as Zod said, have won 5 from 6. As you have mentioned on many occasions, you finished above us in the reserves comp as well and have signed Ratu and Hodgson, so these "kids" are not genuine rookies. FC's team will take time to gel, and it's unlikely that things will be the finished article on their first outing. I don't understand why people are tipping FC to win. The hype around the new signings has been excellent, hence fantastic take-up in season and testimonial tickets, but anyone expecting a slick FC performance should give their head a bang.

Nonsense, for the reasons stated. Both teams blooding new players and combinations. Rovers 4th, FC 12th. Rovers 5 from 6. It would just be business as usual.
So looking forward to the game tommorrow, first time attending the "derby" looking forward to a great atmoshpere Any recomendations of a local eatery/pub should land in Hull at noon, cheers

The team Hull are putting out is far more experianced to the one Rovers are. The settled team thing doesnt come into it given the starting 13 Rovers are naming. Ratu and Hodgson - i doubt if they are into double figures for SL appearannces between them so that point is flawed. Hull have targetted this game as its their only freindly against SL opposition. If that Rovers team tomorrow wins the negativity will be all over your forum and you know that.

Aren't the following 15 first team regulars from the last 2 seasons aren't playing then?
Shaun BRISCOE Kris WELHAM Jake WEBSTER Liam COLBON Paul COOKE Michael DOBSON Rhys LOVEGROVE Scott MURRELL Scott WHEELDON Clint NEWTON Ben GALEA Ben COCKAYNE Jason NETHERTON Ben FISHER David MILLS
Being honest, I don't expect FC to win, just because of the fact they've not played a single game together with big changes having been made. 8 places is a big gap to close, and Reece Lyne, who'll be playing for us, is only 16. Doesn't mean I'll be all doom and gloom though, unless we incur any injuries.

Answered your own question there I think.
I think Hull will win tomorrow. The one dimensional 5 forward barges & a kick approach Agar clearly favours is perfect for playing in January. Not so good in the summer though.

Can only be a good thing long term for Rovers. Surprised Agar isnt taking the same opportunity with Kent, Briscoe, Tuffour, Aldous, Nicklas etc.
i think the reason he isnt giving these young kids a chance is that Agar really wants this win, Its his team now with his signings and a win will breed confidence, where as a loss and a poor showing will have SOME fans saying "here we go again"

I disagree about Agar desperately wanting the win bit, even though a win would be nice. If we're only having 2 preseason friendlies this year before the start of the season, surely you want to be playing your best team in both matches to help them gel so you're up and running for the first game?
