Rumour is he'll be having a £12m signing on fee, as well as £60k a week for 5 years. That signing on fee is pretty huge if I'm being honest, but there is no transfer fee involved so we shall see if it's a worthwhile investment. Hope we've signed him, N'Gog is good and he's developed really well this year, but we need another option up front to go with Torres, it's unfair to put so much pressure on N'Gog at his age.

This story has been denied by Liverpool.

Is this the start of the asset stripping?

I would imagine that United fans are becoming increasingly worried. We have had financial problems in the past. It's not pleasant.

Its aload of rubbish £12M for a player who is a free transfer in the summer and is hardly setting the French league alight would be a joke.

He's still a decent enough player and he's much better than Voronin, Kuyt, Babel and N'Gog. Bordeaux are the French champions and he's been one of their best players. Sure, you could argue he doesn't score enough goals, but him playing up front brings out the best in Gourcuff who we all know is the best player in France.

It's been denied but I'm still pretty confident in our chances of getting him. As soon as the Echo reported it and Chamakh came out saying he'll decide by the end of the month, I felt we had a strong chance of getting him. I don't think we're in a financial position to pay that much money to any player as a signing on fee. I hope we sign him but I won't raise my hopes too high with owners like ours, we don't have the best record of signing players when going up against other big clubs, but I'm hoping Purslow can change this.

the usual talk is coming out of spain that the big guns over there are planning a big bid for Rooney - the results announced would have been horrific had Ronaldo not been sold - interesting times!!!!

Was that included in the figures? I heard City's "98m" loss didn't include the summer spending. Do the United books published include the Ronaldo sale, Valencia signing etc?
