How are you do shirt-printing with player names and numbers without having the squad numbers out yet? :?

Maybe Fisher will do a Mills/Cooke, ie know the club wants rid but hang on for money he can't get elsewhere?

Definitely too slow for the hooking role, he should stay at loose but we'll see what happens. I'd rather see cockayne there.
What fishers done wrong I don't know though a little inconsistent last season, when he's on form he's one of the best hookers in the league.

It depends what you want from your hooker i suppose. Scott will give good distribution, good kicking out of dh and very solid defence through the middle. You dont need blistering pace to be a hooker, and pace of the mark is something that can be worked on and improved.

Keiron Cunningham wasn't blessed with pace.

Apart from pace, Murrell has absolutely everything you'd want for a top-class hooker hence why Justin has given him the number 9 shirt.

As for Ben Fisher, he's technically superb in terms of his accurate and speedy distribution from dummy-half and his tackling technique is text book for a smaller player but he's prone brain explosions in taking wrong options and his lack of consistency has been a problem.

Loose-forward wise the natural option would be to put Galea there but I think there's a chance Justin may utilise Chev Walker physical presence in the middle of the park as an off-loading type middle player and choose to keep Galea out wide where he's done all his damage.

I agree its not all about pace and yes he does tackle above his weight and was rovers top tackler last season i think, but when he does, it reduces his other capabilities as he tires, unfortunately scott will never be any quicker than he is now its just not a natural ability he's got. Can't fault him though he always gives his all.

Id prefer to see Walker used as a wide running 2nd row with Galea using his guile and craft at 13. He showed what damage he could do up the middle at murrayfield.

Good point - probably Galea's best ever game in a Rovers shirt.

I agree and have been saying this for weeks now. Murrell has all the skills necessary to be a top class No.9, he's played there before for the all conquering Leeds Academy side at both U-18's and U-21's before signing for Rovers. IMO Galea is the classic loose forward, he has exceptional hands, steps off both feet and is quick. Utilising him in a free role rather than playing down the same channel everyweek will give Rovers another attacking option and another creative player. I'd expect Walker to take over Galeas second row role (when fit) and it is a position i think you'll see him thrive in once his fitness and confidence is up to speed. Add to that the signing of Clinton and i see no reason why Rovers cannot expect a top 6 finish this season.

Motto of the week -

It is the way of the weak to secretly bleat to those in authority rather than fight their own battles.

Text book tackling from a text book written in the '80s Fisher is superb, write that same book in the 2000's and his defence is not what a coach wants from his hooker.

Murrell will be the Cunningham/Newton type of hooker for us but IMO with a better kicking game. He has the craft of a half back but with the size to muscle it up down the middle.

I do like Fisher I think his game offers us a lot and he has the potential to win us games, with three hookers we have great options and I think a lot more rounded as a squad.

We're coming to make some noise!
