If Stoke want £20M for Ryan Shawcross I'd hold out for for more than £2M for Beckford.

AFAIK Beckford is out of contract at the end of the season, that's why the fee is said to be £2m.

Yes he has scored goals but i promotion is worth more than the 1.5 or so we will get for him now (don't agree we are up yet plenty of time to love it up ask any newcastle fan about a big lead) anyways if & when we go up with him on board does he seriously think there will be a bigger club in the championship than leeds,I don't think so! So yes he could choose to go to newcastle & play for 6 months but if they go up well I am sorry but he is no premier league striker! Looks like Viera is close to signing for City. A good signing IMO as he will bring the right mentality and a bit of leadership to the dressing room. A wealth of experience.
