Didnt realise he had played in the back row and at loose before as reported in this weeks Observor.

So do you reckon we could end up seeing Piggy being played in the back row in 2010 and would he suit this position?

I wasnt aware he played back row in Aus, and if he was selected there this year he would need to take the ball up to the defence which he rarely did last year.
Anyway I am sure MM knows better than "most" of us on here, so if he can get the best out of Piggy any any position all good and well....

Could turn into a work-a-holic back-rower like Dalls Johnson doing 80 minutes stints and putting in 50+ tackles.

He needs to learn how to play hooker first by scooting twice every set first, just ask Rogues.

Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

His footwork and broken field running means he can change a game in an instant.

I’d like us to be one of the first teams in SL to start playing with an 80min hooker and see how it goes.

I wouldn't do that once McIllorum's back as I rate him highly but yeah while he's injured and we've got loads of depth in the back row it would be a smart move. Mind it all depends on pre-season form, if Riddell picks up maybe he'll be worth a spot.

Except if you knew anything about Deeej, then you'd know his highest average season was 70 minutes and 42 tackles this year. Do you do anything other than troll? fail troll is still fail.

In his last season with the Eels he regularly started at hooker then was replaced by a 21yr old rookie whose name escapes me. The kid usually then played the rest of the game and Piggy came back in the last 20 as a second rower running in the left channel.
