Ok, I nicked this off the BBC website but thought it would create a fair bit of debate. And yes, my team does contain a fair few Utd players (I think I've done well to limit it to 6 in the starting XI :D) but I've tried to be objective and there were a few very close calls which is why I've got a 7-man subs bench!!! I've also tried to take into account longevity FWIW, here's my XI...............

GK - Shay Given
RB - Sir Gary Neville
CB - Rio
CB - Terry
LB - Cole
RM - Ronaldo
CM - Gerrard
CM - Keane (Capt)
LM - Giggsy
CF - Van Nistelrooy
CF - Henry

Subs
Cech (special mentions to Friedel & Jaaskelainen)
Rooney
Drogba/Torres
Scholes
Lampard
Campbell
Vidic

A few I considered but narrowly nissed out were Gary Speed, Pires and Fabregas.

I understand the United bias, and realise you've named him as a sub, but I think Frank Lampard would have to be the first name on my team sheet.

He's played more games than any other PL player, played in more wins than any other PL player and was the 4th highest PL goalscorer of the decade.

As much as I'm not a Chelski fan, nor particularly a fan of Lampard, I couldn't leave him out of a team of the decade.

 Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book

But he's a tw*t!!! I think in any other team Lampard wouldn't be as good because the way Chelski have always played, with a holding midfielder, it gives him free license. As an all round midfielder Gerrard gets my vote every time and Keane just has to be in the team. I was only looking from at a 4-4-2 formation so I guess with a midfield that good you could probably afford to play 3 at the back which gives you the option of playing Lampard/Scholes/Vieira as the extra CM.

BTW, I gave a mention to 2 Bolton players, what more do you want?!?

Sam, all the comments you made could equally be made of gary Neville, but he lacks the talent or looks.

Rooney out the squad, viera in and vidic is terrible when he finds himself against pace or quality - carragher in, pires in and scholes out and reina is far better than cech also, i think fowler deserves a mention and alan shearer

Andy Gray’s team of the decade, as announced on SKY Sports News is;

Freidel, G Neville, Terry, Ferdinand, A Cole, Ronaldo, Gerrard, Keane, Giggs, Zola, Henry.

Not much different to what was said above, although Zola up top was ahuge surprise to me?!

Five United players in there (which would suggest a Unites fan picking 8 isn’t that bad?!)

No Wanderers players though?!? ;)

Great player that he was/is, he wasn't a patch on Henry, Rooney or Van Nistelhorse, let's be honest.

Okocha on the other hand....
