Hoping someone with connections can help here.

It's the wife's 40th on the 13th Feb and I need to book a venue big enough for 80 people. Ideally needs to be around the Ashton, Waz, Golborne area.

Sensible suggestions only please :)

Conroy - Being a Latics fan i'm already immune to watching sh*te.

Sally Cinnamon - Treat the Saints forum as you would if you met a girl from St Helens. Best policy would be to avoid altogether but if you absolutely can't resist temptation then take every possible precaution.

A bit out your area, but its free:

Try the Function room in the Powerleague Soccerdome near the Stadium, big enough for 80 and is a free room as long as a certain amount is taken behind the bar (about £250 IIRC), though you need to pay a deposit (about £100)which is returned once the money behind the bar has been calculated.

We had a party there in March and it was an ideal venue with decent sized bar and dancefloor.
If you've ever been in the soccerdome its on the upstairs level on the right hand side opposite the kids play area. Wigan RL use is on occasions - Max the Warrior events, Cheerleader training....etc!

Hindley ARLFC club house is good. My 40th was there.

I kept the faith and I kept voting
Not for the iron fist but for the helping hand
For theirs is a land with a wall around it
And mine is a faith in my fellow man
Theirs is a land of hope and glory
Mine is the green field and the factory floor
Theirs are the skies all dark with bombers
And mine is the peace we knew
Between the wars

I'm going to a party there next weekend and I'm told the bar takings have to be £500 to get it free. Easy :)

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions
