You said you have supported Hull for 32 years therefore the starting year is 1977.
1977 -78 Rovers won the Floodlit Trophy - Hull were Relegated.
1978 - 79 Rovers were Champions so it doesnt matter what Hull did that year as they cannot top it.
1979 -80 Hull won the Floodlit and finished above Rovers but the Robins take that year by beating them at Wembley.
1980 - 81 Rovers finished 3rd, above Hull and beat them in the Premiership final 11-7 at Headingley. And were also runners up in the Challenge Cup.
1983 - 84 Rovers were Champions and Premiership winners
1984 - 85 Rovers were Champions, John Player Winners beating Hull and Premiership Runners up.
1985 - 86 Rovers finished above Hull and were Runners Up in both the Challenge Cup and John Player Trophy.
1986 - 87 Rovers finished 6th Hull finished 11th
1987 - 88 Rovers finished 9th Hull finished 10th.
1991 - 92 Rovers finished 9th Hull finished 12th
2008 Rovers 7th Hull 11th
2009 Rovers 4th Hull 12th.
So id say 12 seasons Rovers had the edge which is far different to the 5 you suggest.
