Seems KR have said he can go if an offer comes in. Is it to save ££££ or just get rid of a 'nuisance' player ? Galea and Cooke going at end of season ....part of sensible pruning ?

Don't think it would come as a shock if we did let him go (I would have expected it to be at the end of this season tho') but maybe we would get a fee for him as well and it may be a prudent time for him to go. If he does stay it will maybe be the kick up the ar5e he needs to work for a new contract either with us or with a new club. This will probably be the first time for a long time he's found himself in a position like this.
Galea looked a shadow of himself towards the end of last season. We need to reduce quota (and wage bill)next year and he may be the one to make way. 2nd row is an area we are strong in and he isn't a spring chicken anymore so it wouldn't be the end of the world if we used moving him on to strengthen another area.

nobody will take cooke on the money hes on with you and why would he move to take less ,he might as well see his contract out ,then when hes a free he will have more chance of getting himself a better deal ,if Bradford have another lean season i could see someone like them comming in for him ,just a thought ,if the same peaple who are running FC now are still there at the end of the season i can not see us moving for him ,nor would i want to TBH, hes a fine player but has a lot of bagadge
Strange one that, I thought he was very popular and is worth 4 points in the table for his part in consistently winning the Hull derbys. I don't think he has played his best at KR though, compared with the Paul Cooke who won the Challenge Cup under Kear he's a shadow of his former self, but he's also playing in a different position (iirc) which I think is part of the problem. I don't see why he'd go, hopefully he will front up this year to renew his contract. Otherwise I could see him moving to Wakefield to team up with Brough/Kear, or possibly a short SL deal with Celtic/Salford on big money.

he isn't worth the wages he is on. On his day he is an awesome player, but he isn't a complete player and he can drift out of games. His off field antics also let him down.
With Dobson in the side Rovers simply don't need Cooke at the salary he is on.

I think that Cooke and Galea going at the end of the season will hit us hard, but it will also allow us to keep the finances in order, I think its proved with the signings made in this off season that the club is trying to move in the direction of younger players that are signed early in their careers and then allowed to develop at the club.

As I said earlier, I think galea is easier to replace than Cooke is, I struggle to see where we have a good enough 6 coming through the ranks although I could see Galea going to save finances (and Quota) and cooke going to free up cap space to sign a quality 6.

The Mail only want to know about City. If they’d won 3-0 at Arsenal this story would never have gone to press. The bad news stories about the RL clubs get wheeled out to divert the focus off City when they’re doing badly. As the World Cup bid has failed, City’s finances are a mess, the inevitable slide towards relegation is gathering pace & Pearson says no new signings are likely we can probably expect more of these quality “exclusives”.
