the plan view doesn't match their rendered drawings. the plan shows that the stadium has a roof at the corners and the other images show that the corners are open. i know its a tender stage representation but surely they should have a better idea of what the final build will look like.

They are phased drawings. 4 individual stands will be built separately, however the corners can be covered and seated to raise the capacity from 12 to 15 thousand. The crucial element in this venture is the business park which will pay for the build of the stadium. Meaning as soon as we get planning permission there will be no worries of funding. As the complex will provide the region with 1000's of job no-one can really see anything but this being pushed through to provide much needed security for the common man and councillor alike.
FWIW i think nearly every fan would prefer a stadium with filled in corners, but as i imagine you can understand, our principle concern is getting the bloody thing built! But all is looking VERY rosey over here.
Hope that clears any confusion.

Don't want to seem pessimistic but that sounds worryingly familiar

Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book

I get the impression that you were derailed by the public enquiry because of the land use, and by the time that was sorted, the recession hit all the potential investors. Maybe just bad timing. People are expecting work to start on ours by the end of the summer in some form or other.
I don't think your biggest threat is us, as the RFL will be reluctant to lose a Manchester team. Your biggest threat is if Oldham ever get their act together, but as they aren't, I suspect that you will get another three years if things look a little rosier for the stadium. You might well be saved by the Crusaders, as if they go belly up, as most people are expecting, Widnes will get their place rather than yours.
