Hi all.
Whilst I have Sky tv etc, my tellybox has lost all it's channels, and despite repeated attempts to search for the new ones, I can't find a single bloody one.

Does anyone know of a simple/straightforward method of doing this manually ?

I only really want it to use ceefax etc now and again, so it's not that critical, but would be helpful if anyone could advise etc.

You are searching for an anologue signal which no longer exists. You need a freeview box to watch not using SKY

I have been having problems for weeks but only have freeview not SKY. I rent in a new apartment block in Sale and was told by the residents committee that the 4 or 5 peasants in the block that don't have SKy also have the same problem. Apparently someone came out to fix the aeriel on Monday but the picture quality is stil shi-ite.

I am at least a week behind on my Corrie viewing

So, if I didn't have a Sky receiver, would my normal 7 year old tv not be re-tunable I can't see everyone in the UK buying a freeview box just to get the terrestrial channels, or am I missing the point here

...and when the analogue signal was switched off, the traditional Ceefax and Teletext (or Oracle) services when with it. The more graphically polished versions on Freeview aren't a patch on the old school service. Also, and quite annoyingly for RL fans, ITV have shut down Teletext for good.

You're not missing the point. If your TV does not have a digital tuner built in, you cannot watch anything without an additional box, whether it be Freeview or Sky/Virgin. The days of taping off the tele are over my friend.

A 7 year old Tv probably won't have a built in tuner. You would have an on screen guide a bit like Sky if it did.

You need a box, or DVD recorder with the Digital tuner built in.

Even when you spend your £20 for a box you might find you only get BBC Wales.

Thats sort of what happened with my son's tv / freeview..it is now wired into the sky dish and all freeveiw channels are available
