an absolute farce of an idea..since it's lost its original rationale, its raison de etre A round trip of nearly 600 miles to watch a normal fixture...and why are HKR the last game of the weekend again? it's a long journey back on a sunday night!!!
Yet another reason why the love of RL is waning, again booze-ups and breweries!

I think the next Magic Weekend will be a major flop, Rovers and Hull should play on the same day, it would make sense so that familys and friends with split loyalties could still go together, I think they will have to re asses it following the next one.
“It’s like an alarm clock’s gone off, and I’ve just got to get away. I think it was John Lennon who said: “Life is what happens when you’re making other plans.”, and that’s how I feel. Although he also said: “I am the Walrus I am the eggman” so I don’t know what to believe.”

Considering its in Scotland?!!!!
I personally dont see the point in creating a fixture when the players are already saying they play too many games per season let alone the International game crying out for more mid-season games but the RFL stating there are not enough free weekends.
If they took away this fixture and put in an England vs Antipodeans playing in the SL game it would free up most players for that weekend and give the RL spectators something to watch.
I dont agree this game is working at spreading the word of this great game. The 6000 walk up spectators last year may well have been predominantly just heartland spectators buying tickets on the day with maybe a minor percentage being Scottish RU fans wanting to see what the fuss was about.
Also we dont need to use the biggest national stadium for this event it looks daft on TV almost like a 7's tournament at best.
If this is carried on over the next few years it might be worth trying it one year in North London at White Hart Lane, the North London people when my brother worked for the Skolars did embrace what they were trying to do and although difficult to break into the football scene the kids did enjoy the game down there.
Definately Bad I have been to both Cardif and Edinburgh over the past 2 seasons and cardif was by far the best weekend. The Jocks dont want us there no interest whatsoever at least the welsh do love there rugby. Rovers game last again no way am I going this season save my money like a good yorkshireman

What?
I quite enjoyed it last year, decent excuse for a weekend away, a bit of a booze up with some rugby chucked in. It's always good to mingle with the other fans, get a bit of the other lots perspective and what have you.
Having said that, I probably won't bother next season, I went to Perp the first couple of years but after that it's got a bit of a been there done that feel to it.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

You cling onto those principles Roofington.
