Had something called HRD Rapide by the Cottage Brewery in The Eagle and Child yesterday.....4.7%.... a pale ale ....very nice.
Never heard of it before.
My computer has gone up the duff.....hence the absence.
I'm in the library.

I've had one or two decent brews from the Cottage Brewery (usually named with a railway theme).

Sorry to hear about the computer - how much time do you get at the library, is it two hours per day?
(I guess you'll have to answer that tomorrow).

The Tut n Shive had a couple of new ales to me last night ...

Newmans Wolvers Ale 4.1% - A nice bitter with a malty flavour.
Hardy & Hansons Rocking Rudolph 4.2% - An excellent winter warmer.

Also managed a pint each of Abbot Ale and Theakstons Old Peculier.

Today it's been a rather bitter-tasting stout, Elland Nocturne and the seasonal
ale Rosey Nosey, courtesy of Bateman's.

Faultless!

Had a few Winter Ales courtesy of Saltaire, a bottle of Abbott Reserve, Owd Rodger and Ventnor Sandrock ( courtesy of B & M ) and three good pints of Landlord at the Homestead. Unfortunately, my girth is expanding rapidly due to over-indulgence

Bottles last night, with three out of four being from the Barnsley Beer Company (the exception being Batemans excellent seasonal brew Rosey Nosey).

The three Barnsley ales were ...

Barnsley Blonde 5.0% ... A blonde lightly fruited ale - too gassy for my taste.
Bee by Gum 4.3% ... Not dis-similar to the Blonde but slightly sweeter (the honey no doubt).
Coil Oil 3.9% ... The most interesting of the three. A porter with cinnamon and lime flavours amongst others.

Darley's Ghost by Thorne Brewery is a very nice drink, and a warming 4.5%. It's currently on in the Red Lion.
