Most would agree with you, I think. I think Rovers could make occasional use of the KC a real asset, but any plan would need goodwill from the fans, which maybe just doesn't exist.

Its just a distraction from the main issue of the North stand, anyway - my fault.

I agree. There is a lot of talk about extending the East Stand and developing the North and West stands but if you improve the South Stand (and facilities for away supporters generally) you will attract a lot more away supporters than at present which will help you get to the 10,000 average.

The lack of away supporters and the distance they are from the pitch may make CP more intimidating for opposing teams and may even have contributed to Rovers' excellent home form over the last couple of years but if you can make CP more welcolming for away supporters it will undoubtedly increase attendances and revenue.

Why have you seen the books?.You only have to hear and see the evidence and then make your own mind up.Your club seems to be in a right mess at the moment.Only my opinion of course.

Your right, it is your opinion, a very over exaggerated one at that though!

I think we should try and stay on topic here and not risk de-railing an interesting thread as the OP feared.

There is no point speculating about what Rovers' accounts will reveal. There will no doubt be plenty of talk about them when they are published.

It's a good idea but, as I've stated on other threads, you've got a state of the art facility and other than maybe Wigan, does any team from East of the Pennines ever bring a decent crowd?

Most of the rest of SL fans just don't travel like our clubs, especially over to East Yorkshire, they can't be bothered.

Yes, improving our facilities for away fans would add some onto the attendance, but other than when your team comes I'm not sure it would add enough to make a difference.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

I agree with this too.

Plus, I will be looking to move to the North Stand once its up and running.

How about if any extra revenue for a KC derby were ring-fenced for improvements at CP? A new temporary stand or a few steps of concrete terracing, closer to the pitch, maybe with a roof, would be a small step in the right direction .

You're starting to win me over.

Other than the loss of face my real concern about this idea would be how the RFL view it at franchise time.

If they view at as underlining the inadaquencies of Craven Park, then bad.

If they view it as an innovative way for a club to self fund ground improvements in difficult times, then good.
