The Roosters would consider cutting O'Meley - a former Test prop on $350,000 a season - if he can find a Super League club in England.
Roosters coaching staff believe O'Meley is "past it" and has fallen off the pace..........................

While Clinton's departure would give the Broncos clout on the open market, Cullen said the club would never try to force him out.
"We'd be a bit light on for front-rowers (if Clinton left). Joel is a nice fella and a really good bloke. If he's here next year so be it," Cullen said.
"There are examples of us letting guys go for their benefit.
"David Stagg was supposed to be a part of our plans for 2009 but then Canterbury came up with a better offer for him and we respected that."

Hardly sounds delighted for him to stay though. 'If he's here next year so be it'. Clinton is and always has been an average player in the NRL backed up by his rep honors. O'Meley at one point was one of the best props in the league and he is at the prime age for a prop... We'll have to wait and see I guess.

Us real fans don't look over our shoulder at our neighbours and do whatever we can to get one over on them. We look at the bigger picture. And this is the reason why Rovers are and will forever be considered a small club. Because their fans and board would rather get one over on Hull FC above anything else.

Quite sad, really!

SPOT ON!

What's the point in that, surely it's much better to make up your mind now rather than wait and see them play in a new competion, in a new country, in a new team and within a new coaching set up?

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

I'm just wondering if RBA would be happy for Rovers to start playing in a different colour strip if it meant an extra source of revenue. :D

What i am saying mate is that shirt sponsorship revenue is probably the biggest single source of revenue that is available to a club.
If we need to have 5 sponsors on the shirt to maximise revenue then i am happy with that even if it is to the detriment of the "attractivness" of the shirt.
Rovers and Hull were the last clubs in the league to take advantage of shirt sponsorships back in the 1980s and look how that turned out eventually...

At the end of the day if having numerous sponsors helps clubs into the black then go for it. ok it may be ugly but we dont want to see any club falling by the wayside if at all possible.

But would having numerous sponsors mean each sponsor would not be willing to offer as much as they are in effect competing against other sponsors?
