Yep:
"What are Moderators?
Moderators are individuals (or groups of individuals) whose job it is to look after the running of the forums from day to day. They have the power to edit or delete posts and lock, unlock, move, delete and split topics in the forum they moderate. Generally moderators are there to prevent people going off-topic or posting abusive or
offensive material."
Where do you draw the line between what is offensive and what is not? I daresay the families of a victim of an RTA whose driver was using a mobile phone would have a different opinion on that to GML. I, personally, find any flippant disregard of the trust placed in the people who drive 2 tons of lethal weapon by those drivers themselves offensive. Be it by deliberately speeding, drinking, using your phone or any other flouting of the driving laws in force to protect us all.

mods are not role models! unless you want to be a mod when you grow up I suppose. I expect they are mostly arsonists, fraudsters and drug abusers (which in no way affects their excellent management of the moderation process, of course).
You're right there!
