Said on Humberside he is the highest paid player at Brissy, 275,000 a year (dollars)
Would not come cheap, but then talent doesn't. Would be a surprise if you got him IMO

£152,484 BPS at todays rates. I think it will depend on the length of the contract imo, if its over a three year period as i suspect it will be, then i believe the amount on offer, will work out less than what he is currently earning per annum.
If we are succesful in our attempt to sign him, it will be a major coup for the club as there is no doubting his ability, he is fast for a prop and aggresive too, it would make our pack very formidable indeed and help lay the platform for our relatively young but now more experienced back division.
Lets just hope it comes off.

yeah, your facts are correct mate, clinton is on a small fortune at the broncos..farcical really when you consider the value they have got from him...and the players they have released due to salary cap restraints ie:hannant, eastwood, berrigan etc since he was signed....but...when he signed from penrith to replace webcke, all in brissie was thinking he was the man, unfortunatly for whatever reason that hasnt materialised..lack of form and a change of management didnt help, but also filling the boots of a qld legend was probably the hardest thing to tackle....
still a quality operator and will fill a huge gap in your forward line in my opinion due to his style and size...
also abit of a looker for the ladies, so they new calendar will sell quite well no doubt..
the battle of clinton if he signs and o'meley will be fascinating to see in the derbys....may the best man win

Indeed....
Quote:In Round 19, 15 July 2006, Joel Clinton made international headlines with a tackle on Ty Williams of the North Queensland Cowboys. With the Penrith Panthers ahead 12-8; Cowboys winger Ty Williams broke the Panthers line and headed for a runaway try in the corner. However, Clinton had enough pace and tenacity to pull the Queensland Origin player into touch just centimetres out from the tryline.[2] Considered one of the fastest men in the NRL over one hundred metres, Williams was running for a game-changing four points. Instead, Clinton single-handedly reversed the momentum of the match. This allowed Panthers winger Michael Gordon to score in the final minute, giving the Panthers an unlikely 17-8 win.
If the deal come off, could Clinton and Vella be the fastest prop combo in history?
