The Salford Tourist Information Centre in the Lowry is currenlty exhibiting the shortlisted photos for the 2009 Seen in Salford photo comp. One of my pics is on the shortlist, so as a blatant abuse of my powers I'm asking people to give us a vote if they're in the area...

The pic is of teh gassworks on Liverpool Street and is called "I met my love..." (below - and photo number 1 in the Info Centre) - I was trying to avoid the obvious tourist locations like the Quays, and show that can be beauty in more traditional parts of the city.

Voting is open until Thursday 3rd December (so I'll be expecting the whole Bradshaw clan voting number 1 ) get there early becausee there didn't seem to be that many blank voting sheets lying around on Tuesday - last year there was both an online system and voting at the Info Centre (with two separate awards) but so far this year there doesn't seem to be an online vote. Oh, and they've spelt my name wrong in there.

When I was around 8, I won an art competition for the Keep Britain Tidy campaign. Went to a plum do at Marks and Spencer's boardroom on Salford Precinct to pick up my award and was papped for the local papes. A couple of days later, sure enough my photo appears in the Advertiser and lists where I live. I'd never been to Turtle Drive, Weaste but I'm sure it was a lovely road.

Hmmm. Yes, but correct spelling seem to be too much to expect from that group of papers. And I'm sure my comment was a little blunter than that about the original MEN storm.

I've never seen a roller coaster in Salford before
