This seems to be the standard response from most Hull fans. All it shows are their best years have been and gone. I'm only interested in what a player might do for my club in the future, not what he's achieved for someone else in the past.
As for Clinton (if he signs), we're light in the front row & have quota & salary cap space available. What's your problem?

Save your shouting till after you've actually seen them play. I saw O'Meley and Fitzgibbon in town on thursday at the xmas lights - me dad shook o'meleys hand then told him he's signed for the wrong club, a typical hull fc grunt and an ugg-ugg was the reply - but O'Meley looked very average build/height. He might be hard/thuggish, but he was a lot smaller than I expected.
Fitzgibbon was tall, fairly chunky, but they've both seen their best days. Joking aside, you surely have to see that? And I wouldn't bet against those two players taking a huge chunk of the salary cap, a hell of a lot more than j.clinton would/will.
Justin Morgan targets specific players to do specific jobs for the team regardless of whether or not they are "internationals" etc. and he's got a proven track record of getting this right validated by Newton, Galea & Dobson who all made the SL Dream Team. Clinton would be a perfect tonic to the current weakest area of the squad.
FC's policy is based around signing names regardless of where abouts the respective players are in their careers and how much they take out of their salary cap. For example; since signing Berrigan they have finished 11th & 12th in SL despite his undoubted class so in terms of end of season placement, then this is dumb recruitment.
Also look at Fitzgibbon, it's common knowledge that he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and come to Rovers but at the end of the day, he's a player 6 years past his best with O'Meley also with his best days behind him.
Maybe after a 3rd year of failing to get in the play-offs, FC fans may finally start to digest that they are at the mercy of a directionless coach who along with Rule, peddle the same nonsense every off-season only to fail miserably when it comes down to the crunch and it will be the same next year.

Yet Fitzgibbon still made the Aussie WC team and played Origin last year, whereas Clinton can't even make Origin and has 1 cap in an Anzac test IIRC. Convinently left out Fozzard, Mills, Wheeldon, Fitzhenry, that guy who went back to Aus forgot his name the really really terrible prop as Morgans signings who have turned out to be average at best.

Us real fans don't look over our shoulder at our neighbours and do whatever we can to get one over on them. We look at the bigger picture. And this is the reason why Rovers are and will forever be considered a small club. Because their fans and board would rather get one over on Hull FC above anything else.
Quite sad, really!
SPOT ON!

Wheeldon & Fitzhenry have been great for us and despite the likes of Mills, Crossman & Fozzard etc. his success rate is outstanding.
When all's said and done, Joel Clinton would be far more useful to us the Fitzgibbon.

1) IIRC? Like you didn't frantically search for the fixture he played in.
2) Wheeldon had a good season, as did Fitzhenry. And you've missed out a couple of dozen signings by morgan there that have turned out to be master strokes
