In part the costs are being covered by partners and it gets the club closer to a franchise tick-point (capacity), and shows the RFL that things are still moving in the right direction. Definately a positive step. I was a bit OCD about the lack of symmetry with only one end extended, but I won't now need to waste the time of an NHS psychiatrist so everyone is a winner (my wife can just learn to live with my refusal to set the television volume to prime numbers)
Do you honestly believe that there are hordes of fans who have not been attending games in your best season for 25 years just because they have to sit in a seat at one end rather than stand in the east stand? Does it deter people from travelling to away matches when they know they will be stood (or sat) behind the sticks? The east stand hasn't sold out every match. I remember a number of ames (including the wigan play off game I think) where your club were advertising availability of tickets right up to kick off.

No. I'm not really seeing how you could think I might from my previous post. I might make the effort to travel up a couple more times, if I can be certain of getting a ticket to watch with friends. I'm quite happy with my obstructed view from the back of the West stand, but I can understand why others might not be. A bit of spare capacity and choice will be nice for the fans.

Its now one of the few ways they can sustain their imiginary superiority over Rovers after their abysmal performances in the Super League since Rovers promotion and being consistantly trounced in most of the 10 recent derbies.

Why are you so keen to get shot of Agar, if you are not really bothered by results? Do you just not like the cut of his jib or something? If everything but 1st is irrelevant - why not stick with him, because I can't see anybody dragging you from 12th to 1st this year. It is only a game afterall and not worth someone losing their livelihood over, surely.
Could it be that FC fans are slighty jealous of a stand that will now hold over 5500 standing?. A stand that gives the best atmosphere of any ground? A ground that Sky and Phil Clarke love to come to for the old School atmosphere?
Do they miss it?
I think so.
