Cheers for that, plenty of time to plan it, I've never been to Barcelona so might get the Ellipsos overnighter from Paris there and spend a few hours before heading to Perpignan.

Na i think he starts to swell up and blisters all over him appear if he goes over the channel and gets in contact with anything french, that sounds about right hence the reason he went missing for months that time, drinks french wine in the pub to see if he still has a bad reaction and misses half the season for it, lesson learned

I hadn't spotted this issue until HC pointed it out!
FFS great planning by the RFL making one of the smallest fan bases in the Super League pay out two weeks running, well if it comes down to finance I'll chose to miss the MM.

There was only a couple of weeks difference last year too

this will not be the end, or even the beginning of the end.
It is merely the end of the beginning

I suppose it had to happen to one club. As you point out a lot will decide to miss one match over the other. For some that will be MM, for others it'll Catalans. Unless the club do something similar, I wonder whether we'd be breaking any rules if we were to offer a ticket donation scheme where those season ticket holders who don't decide to go to MM send their ticket to us and we will dole them out on a first come, first served basis.

Not really mate, they could have had Catalan play an away fixture the weekend before MM and they could have stayed the week. Might have even helped Catalan actually sell a package for their supporters for a week in the U.K. Say one weekend in London V Harlequins and the other in Edinburgh. From what I've witnessed the last four occassions I've been to Perpignan is there's plenty more money in the south of France than there is in Sunny Salford.
Two years on the bounce for us is taking it a bit too far!

It is the third time the two have fallen fairly close close as there was a two week gap last year and we played in France on about 22nd May in 2007. Catalans are away in England the week before MM, although there are actually two fixtures between the Murrayfield game and Catalan Away - one round of the cup (we'll get London Skolars away!, and Saints at home). Hull have it worse than us, away at Catalan on 15th May.
Maybe they decide that because we've taken the fewest fans to MM each time then we're the least hit - without them thinking that it may be one of the reasons we've taken so little.

Could be right and I would imagine we'll take more to France than MM again.

In the article Clague says that Murrayfield Magic is the weekend after we play Catalans away. However, there is a three week gap between the games. MM being on the 1st or 2nd May prior to the 22nd May French trip. Its still going to be costly for some.
