Being an established S.L. club and vastly underspending your salary cap will have undoubtedly helped......but if your fans prefer their on the field achievements to remain third class then so be it.

Oh dear.
Half your fans were chucking passes away this term. Another few years of mediocraty will not affect you then.

would be a good money earner in my book, as long as Hull City (Duffen or whoever runs that thing now) dont charge much for the running of the food stalls and all that stuff.

No doubt be a sell out with FC in the North stand and upper West, with Rovers in the East, south and west.

Where would rovers find 16,000 fans from?

The SMC bought the franchise for the running of the stadium from the council at it's inception, the SMC being a privately owned (by Bartlett) profit making organisation.

The reason one of the International games was not played at the KC was because - it has recently emerged - Duffen wanted to charge such an astronomical price for it's hire that the RFL baulked, pi$$ed themselves laughing, and approached Doncaster. So Rovers getting it for free isn't an option. The Council, incidentally has NO input into how the SMC manage or price the stadium.

Having said that, Pearson is now at the helm and has said he will make the stadium more readily available for events in the interest of the community. As Rovers are a struggling local club and a Rovers home game would fill the stadium, the price could well be more competitive now than it would have been a month ago.

If Hudge has any sense he will look into this. The profits from the game will more than offset any costs - Hull fans would be happy to attend because they'd be able to see the game. (It really IS the South "Stand" that keeps most away, you know, despite popular red delusion it's some sort of a pettiness or "not being a true fan" thing  .)

They were the first club in the city to make staff redundant from their shop in the city, they to have shelved a warm weather trip abroad this season and plans for a state of the art training facillity (and i don't mean Gordon street gym :D ) has been knocked back. And many of the know all fans insist they failed to spend anywhere near their salary cap for the last couple of seasons.

Put anything under the spotlight and give it a little spin.......

Oh, alright then. Proof of the financial pudding is the filed accounts, pet, as I may have mentioned before. In the last 5 years we've played in 3 major finals, won a major trophy, won 3 play-off games, increased crowds to 13,500, sold 50,000 shirts and made £1m profit to pay off £1m of the £2.4m debt. You've filed accounts late for all 5 years, lost £1.9m (£1m per the filed accounts plus £0.9m in 2008/9), and not won a play-off game, never mind got to a final. To paraphrase an accounting saying, "Derby wins are vanity, going concerns are sanity".

Our marketing and merchandise operation is second to none and has a massive part to play in our current financial stability and steady growth.

NO plans for a warm weather camp were made this year so how can they have been shelved? (Perhaps your league position last year showed Agar the way - fancy-pants hotels in hot countries don't have that much effect? Brid beach and Saltend - something in the air means they're just as good. ) Think we may be joining the Army for a week, probably as costly as a warm weather camp anyway.

Salary cap? It was all down to those pesky Visas - the willingness - and the funding - was there.

Think that spin has spun and is pointing East. Come on - what would most Rovers fans give to have our account books instead of yours. Your post just makes you look silly

Remind us all of, just how long you have been in SL and how much silverware you have aquired during that exstensive period.
One piece of silverwear hardly constitutes a success story and is a very poor return by anyones standards, What did you win during your first 4 seasons? also you should refer to your clubs balance sheets during those periods, they wern't exactly a picture of health.
Hull fc still have large overall deficit though they have managed to bring it down over the last two or three seasons due to the fact that they have underspent on their salary cap, something Rovers have been unable to do to date as they have been striving to establish themselves in SL.
However, Rovers may be able to reduce their debt by the same means over the next two or three years as they spend within their operating revenues, which hopefuly, will be boosted by increased income streams in the business, one of which would be from, improving the ground and its facilities to encourage more fans through the turnstiles.

The one thing all fans must realise is that,we are in the longest and worst reccession since world war 2 of which, no business has been immune, including sports teams, anyone who thinks this situation is unique to Rovers is living in a little world of their own or has absolutely no grasp of reality.
Putting everything into perspective. In rugby league, Leeds who are the most succesful team of present times, suffered around a £360,000 loss during the last financial year ,Wigan apparently suffered huge losses and i dread to think what the finances are of some of the other more established clubs who have also invested heavily in players but havn't had very good average attendances.
In football, Liverpool and even Manchester Utd are two prime examples of sports teams been adversly effected by the current economic climate, both are two of the richest teams in the world but both are having to cut back on expenditure and make staff redundant, because of huge financial losses, it has been documented that Liverpool may even have to sell Torres to help balance their books.
Rovers have a dynamic board of directors who are all business men in their own right and are, all huge fans of the club which is also a big plus.
I personaly have every faith in their abillity to steer Rovers forward and upward over the next few years.
