Guess no one knows how things will go. If for example at the end of 2010 Hudge lets some big earners go and doesnt replace them to be able to develop the stadium i think without some huge junior development you would be lucky to make the playoff. Nothings a given though, crowds may drop they may not. The stadium may get extended in the hope that the crowds go up, they may not. Lots of speculating to accumulate at the minute and i hope for Rovers survival that it comes off.

Maybe I am an odd one out as a Rovers fan, but I would be quite happy to sacrifice a play off place in the next two seasons in order to bring on some kids, get rid of a few high earners and improve the ground. I suppose that will not induce crowd increases, but at least with expenditure lower and debts lower we would be able to manage on 8,000 regulars for a season or two. I would hate to look back in 5 yrs time from NL1 and comment on how wonderful our few seasons in SL were, I would rather be in it long haul and build over the next five years.
At 52, I have see the good and bad at Rovers and I want my grandkids to see a SL side for years to come and not have to go through the crap journeys to Workington to see us thumped.

Good post, I have no doubt the faithful supporters who went through thick & thin will feel exactly the same, the problem arises from the supporters who have joined since SL, their expectations now will be high, plus like it or not the rivalry does have an impact on certain supporters, also we started with 14k first few games that figure did drop as our performances went up the creek. Financial stability is the key, how this is achieved time will tell, I suspect cosst will be cut on the field. Hope it works out though would not like to see you back in NL1,as long as you finish below us though

Think thats exactly the right attitude and one that Hudge will be depending on if the hard times come over the next year or too. Sadly as with every club some fans dont stick around.
saying you missed out on a former test star becasue you couldn't fit him under the cap is about as relevent as saying you missed out on the full australian side because of the quota.

2004 Anzac test versus the Kiwis.
