There was no denying that it was a tight, good, ahrd fought game....but I'm not frightened to say that that game was to big a fixture for that referee, without a doubt, even some of the Woolston lads commented when we were in the changing rooms after the game that he was missing blatent knock on's, and when you miss something so obvious on a try which ultimately decided the game, then questions really need to be asked...that lad didn't want to be there from the onset, he inspected the pitch even after the coucil had deemed it fit FFS.
Lloydys right when he said Woolston did us out wide, no doubt
But piggy back, after piggy back will kill any team, and it did us saturday, simple.

Cant do owt about the refs though. In these leagues you need to focus more on your own game as the refs miss that much. Its not right but they are the cards we are dealt. I always told our lads this as you can get so frustrated at times.
Langworthy away for example, they put an attacking kick through our defensive line and it goes dead. 20m tap? Nope, a drop out because we never made an attempt to get the ball!!!!!! From the resulting drop out we kick it, it bounces IN play and goes into touch. Woolston head and feed? No Langworthy head and feed because the ref deemed it went out on the full! We explained it should then be a penalty under the sticks for Langworthy but........
Its hard but I think we shouldnt let the refs detract from the quality, hard but fair games we have had over the last 3 and a bit seasons. There has rarely been more than a score between us in the games and they have been high quality. Im sure we all have a our weekly stories of the refs but without them we cant play at all.
I don't no why everyone's talking about the ref at the end of the day woolston played well in the conditions and although it wasn't a high scoring game woolston missed 3 kicks at goal as well the last two games we have bin the same are completion rate has been terrible to much panic rugby when we get the ball instead of playing out are sets of six and camping in the other teams half and also to many errors you cannot compete against your likes of woolston moss bank west bank making constant mistakes no disrespect to any other teams
The lad gave Head & feed scrum to you men after a accidental offside against me, is that not a straight penalty? Correct me if I'm wrong.
I think the point i'm getting at over the young lad on Saturday, is that NWC mut have known that Woolston v SV is one of the 3 biggest fixtures in that league, was last season, and a few seasons before that...the other being the one's that involve Moss Bank.
Surely to god there should have been a more experienced fella in charge.
I accept we can only play with the cards we are dealt...and I think the result on Saturday was a fair one, but that standard of refereeing in that game and whether it be us, Woolston, are any div 6 fixture is and was unacceptable in my view and needs addressing.
I will now forever hold my peace on the matter!
