Who is so perfect in their judgement and behaviour that they can make such a decision? Politicians maybe?
As we all know, no such person exists.
You may think Gary Glitter and people like him should lose their lives. But maybe the person who gets to decide doesn't like you much either.
Stalin executed 20 million people and thought he was completely right to do so. Back then he was the one who got to decide.
No man has the right to take the life of another even when it is done in the name of the state. IMO.
So are you saying i and others serving/served in the forces shouldnt shoot anyone back?
And are you saying our forefathers were in the wrong when they stopped us all speaking German?[/b]

I submit to you that if a man hasn't discovered something that he will die for, he isn't fit to live.

I'd take the 54% stat with a pinch of salt though, research has proven that people are more motivated to vote in this kind of situation if they have a strong negative feeling, the people that dont want to see a return are more likely to have not voted.

Hopefully not the same people who deem a rapist or psychopathic murderer well enough to return to our streets only to commit the same offence again......and dont say this is rarely happens, as once is to many for the victim.

Your argument is a fair one,but I will tell you this,if it was proved 100% that a peado had interfered with any youngsters in my family, I would pull the lever myself,no problem.

Why should a child killer like say Ian Huntley have a right to life, just because some do gooder thinks it makes us as bad as them. We all know we are not killers but probably would kill if need be to protect our children.
