I agree, but trying to get hold of top players is difficult. I doubt Mills is on a massive contract, though when he signed he had been everpresent in 2008 and was captain of his country, so it could be an issue. Hopefully he can at least get back to being a solid option next year.
IMO, if we don't get a top prop, a different type of prop would still be of value. But being honest my understanding of RL is several levels below that of a SL coach. I think JM and his staff may prefer technically sound players to blockbusting ones with the odd rick in them - Netherton vs Aizue, for example.

Yeh he is. Looked the part when he came in and played a couple of games in 2008 season and was really surprised he didnt get more/any game time last year.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Anyway Alex Mc, dim wits aside, I totally agree.
To consolidate our position we need at least one if not two competent props.
Vella's getting more and more injury prone, Netherton's solid in defence but doesn't offer a lot going forward. Lovegrove had a great season and will hopefully kick on again. Watts has to grab his chance his only appearance this year was (I think) against Cas were he clearly came out to try and make his mark, tried to hard and was awful. Wheeldon's okay, as long as he gets a 50 metre run up first and Beaumont's obviously only going to make a couple of appearances at most.
