Briscoe has deserved his chance at FB for England but if he is England's best, which he probably is, it says a lot about our current standard of English players. He would not compare favourably with any of his last dozen international predecessors.
That "international" 3/4 line that we had out yesterday was the weakest that I have ever seen.
