Nah. He was just a big donkey who we bought. I can't remember how much we paid for him, but I doubt it was that much.

Robert Fleck though was a club record signing at the time. He was a signing that virtually every Chelsea supporter wanted, and he was going to be the guy to move us forward.

But he was 5hite, Total and utter 5hite.

At that time we definitely didn't have the money to spend, so when we spent big we really felt it if the signing turned bad. Fleck was a prime example of this.

Another 5hitty signing was Alan Dickens from West Ham. At the time we bought him I think he was regarded as on a similar level to Paul Ince, and we paid a similar fee for him. Ince went on to become a top player, Dickens dissapeared off the face of the earth.

A backup forward like say Robbie Keane? Or maybe Peter Crouch? I'm assuming N'gog and Voronin are better than these seen as Rafa showed them the door.

I think my posts show why I think Rafa is poop. As for a new manager i don't know but it's a job that would attract a lot of interest with money or without. Mancini?

Keane was sold because it didnt work out and it wasn't his signing little did he know he would get the money to replace him, Crouch was sold because he wanted first team football and at a profit the money from that went to buying...Keane

All I know is that in 03/04 Liverpool finished 4th. Either Houllier was a genius or that's not as bad a team as your making out. That £14Million was from Benitez 1st season. I didn't count the 04/05 transfers in my £81.1mil calculation thats for seasons 05/06(£25.6mil), 06/07(£15.6mil) and 07/08(£39.9mil). These are all net spends and produce the £81.1mil I stated WITHOUT the £25mil that Rafa did or didn't spend in his first season.

Having looked at the squad from 04/05 it's not exactly a disaster is it? Theres quite a few good players in it. Gerrard, Carragher, Hyypia, Riise and Alonso to name 5.

Alonso was a Rafa signing Riise less said the better
