Like you say, we dont need as much of an attacking FB with having a ball handling LF, where as you and Agar like an attacking FB with a prop at LF lol
not really it depends of the make up of your squad, if murrel went to hooker the probability is you'd play with 2 ball handlers.
same with us if tansey had to move to 7 and whiting or briscoe played fb but at least we could move washy to 13 and still have 3 ball handlers.

Kosh wrote:Briscoe does offer an attacking threat through his support play, which is as good as anyone TBH. Where he falls down IMO is in converting defence to attack - bringing the ball out and acting as an additional pivot.
ATEOTD which style of FB is best depends on the balance of the side. Briscoe scored plenty of tries for us when we had some creative players and he could back up Horne when he was in form. Latterly we've needed a player who offers more due to deficiencies elsewhere.
I think Briscoe is currently the best England-qualified FB out there. Tansey has the potential to be as good or better (although in a different style) but still has to prove that he can deliver.
agreed kosh, i aren't saying you cant play that way just what i prefer.

not if ben galea or chaz I'anson played loose man we wouldn't can't really see us picking a prop at 13 and surely murrell would still be in the team at 9 so that would be 4 with the 2 half backs.
Some of Cockayne's performances at full back whilst Briscoe has been injured this season have been phenomenal - in all aspects of full-back play and is probably the closest thing to the type of full-back many England fans have been craving. It will never happen though because of JM's choice to utilise him as a utility player for the better of the squad.

So morgan doesn't play his best full back at full back then? Interesting
You'll be telling me next he plays hookers at loose forward and wingers at hooker but surely only an idiot like agar would do that

Lets just be grateful that in Shaun Briscoe Rovers are fortunate to have the best English full back in Super League and in Ben Cockayne have a valuable utility player whose best position happens to be full back aswell.
With SB defencesive abilities and BC's attacking prowress the combination would be as near to an English Billy Slater we are ever going to have.
