Lincoln United 1 Cambridge united 3

Inevitable I guess so it's Cambridge away for Ilkeston.

they mat underestimate you. if we can take Wrexham the whole way i have no doubt you can do the same with Cambridge.

Think Lincoln will be their wake up call as they were 1 down after 3 minutes but blitzed them with 3 in a few minutes just before half time.

Injuries and suspensions mean it will be a weakened side Ilkeston play there but will have their best centre forward and a central defender back for any replay so I think its go down there and hope for the draw.

They've got Stafford at home on Tuesday and I am very tempted to bet on Stafford at a big price as the players minds are likely to be on the cup tie and with a few players out it could be a time when the proud unbeaten home record goes.

My thinking that Stafford would beat Ilkeston was spot on but at least i won some cash off the bookies to pay for London, Cambridge then the darts at Wolverhampton :)

To be fair, they were missing a couple of first team regulars were kidderminster, but take nothing away from us. We can match anyone in the conference proper, if they try and play football like we do. We were sublime last night. Everything just "clicked".

Roll on the first round proper :)

Came out of the 'big one' unscathed after going 1-0 down after a horrendous start in 2mins.

Came back fighting though, having to play our best player in net as 2 of our keepers were injured/suspended.

The game went to extra time, and at half time in extra time Wire decided to swap the keeper and put him infront with our right replacing him in net. Guess who sets up the winner, Jimmy Mccarthy the standin keeper/striker! Won a penalty with 2mins to go, which was duly despatched.

What a game, and a good turnout from Wire as we outnumbered the home support at a subdued Knowsley Road. 150 in a 17,000 capacity ground! :)

Much bigger crowd than the place is used to :)

Leigh lost 4-0 at Mossley in the League Cup. Another pointless cup out of the way, and I sampled the best pie in footballing history. A good night all round!

good 5-0 win for Halifax away at Shepshed Dynamo in the fa trophy.

8 points off top in the league now though having played 5 games less.
