How can we judge yet? 4 of them haven't played for us - 1 of those hasn't even signed for us yet. Esders is a Harlequins player now. Mills' second contract was a mistake, with hindsight. Wheeldon has turned out well - not spectacular, but definately solid.

Are you really trying to make us sad with the prospect of all our signings not being great? That happens all the time. After Maiva and Thorman, you should know that well enough. The law of averages means you'll be doing well for none of your new signings to disappoint at least slightly.

Gazing into my crystal ball, I can imagine Ratu, Hodgson and Cook all making positive contributions while wearing numbers bigger than 13. A prop as good or better than Fozzard coming in and on paper, we'll look better than this time last year (when we were 4th in the league), IMO. If that doesn't happen then I'll have a slight sense of disappointment - but I'll take comfort knowing how much happiness this brings to a poor benighted people, who once dreamt of 'kicking on' from a Grand Final appearance.

This thread almost makes me wish we'd have been so shocking for the last two years that we needed to sack half the squad, sign loads of players (and claim the signing of 3 tongans even tho they were here last year but ssshhhh no one will notice) and then we could be overly optimistic about the next season to such an extent we could mock our neighbours...
