Given the way the deal is structured it seems to me a great deal of thought has been put into this deal.

It is ideal IMO and IL should be complimented on putting together a deal that doesn't tie us to holding onto a player if things don't work out but gives us the breathing space to get the likely replacements up to speed and decide which ones are going to get his shirt eventually.

How on earth you can even consider he knows nothing of the man is beyond me.

I don't always agree with how IL goes about things but he seems to have got this one bang on. I fail to see the down side.

Dave

I agree with DaveO!!

No thanks!

According to Wane on the radio program a couple of weeks back he had a new deal agreed for next year so your wish may have been granted already but while I am very happy for Goerge to sign this deal I would not be on here singing IL's praises if we have indeed re-signed Bailey.

Why?

We didn't miss him when he has been out injured IMO
We have young players much more ready to step into the back row than to replace him than we do in the centres to replace Carmont
He has a serious Achilles injury.

The usual argument to keep him on is he is good talker and a great pro off the field. I have no doubt he is but as a player I don't think he offers enough when we have Mossop ready and Farrell waiting in the wings.

If the club think he has the attributes to be a coach and it isn't just a case of "jobs for boys" then him being employed as a coach would be fine.

Dave

Think Grimmy might be talking about Ryan Bailey Dave?

Good stuff.

Well done Lenagan, well done Carmont.

Very pleasing result there and the contract is laid out in the right way so it benefits all involved, great stuff.

Now for a prop or two.

Wigan vs Leeds finals aggregate score.

Wigan 178 - 64 Leeds

Wigan wins - 6 Leeds wins - 0

James Graham and Ryan Bailey would be good if Fielden goes to Celtic :D

I agree it's a good signing, but it's the kind of drivel that's rolled out around review time when it's clear the manager knows nothing about the person being reviewed. I'm sure with a little more effort he could have said something more positive - how about one of the best centres in the SL for example.

I wonder if it's a sign of things to come, moving towards performance based contracts?

Well now that Nobby won't be taking Carmont down to Wales with him let's hope he switches his attention to taking Fielden instead.

Anybody know anything about a Saints junior coming to us, read something about it on redvee but there being very cagey with information.
