Any idea of how long it will take for the planning permission to be granted?

Normally at least 12 weeks for full detailed planning permission.

Which takes us upto christmas the work will start which will be a good present for us all, can they turn the ground over now or do we need to wait till then?

i thought the ground has already been done?

I drive past it regualar on the motorway and its still green unless im looking in the wrong place or was it just they put pipes in to get rid of the gas or somthing?

To be fair mate.. seeing as your council are well on side with this I wouldn't be surprised if this goes through in record time. I think you might be well on your way before the Christmas break.
If you needed to you could certainly clear the land again as that doesn't need planning permission. It's all a question of whether they want to take the (incredibly small really as to be discounted) risk of the permission being refused and having spent the money on the clearing.

It won't be long before you have real, actual movement on this I'm sure!!

Will be worth keeping an eye out, because when it does turn up on the site, attached to it will be all the plans and drawings for the project, and so we should be able to get an idea of how the finished product should look, and how much has been sacrificed in the new design.
