I expect his next headline to be ....Offiah in "Bears Poop in Woods" Shocker!
We all know we need a couple of key signings but i also think that we are dark horses for a Trophy next year, most realistically the cup depending on the draw, i think we are in a stronger/as strong a position as team like Hull, Hudds and Wire who have got to the final and won it.
Martin is doing his bit to jump on the back of a big news week for Wigan in order to ensure he stays in the spotlight also.
As for the halves/prop thoughts for me i think we can consistently challenge for honours with our current halves, iu personally think TL is a better 7 than a 9 and am happy to see him there. He has a quality short kicking game and i think for the long kicking game players like Tomkins, Locky and Phelps need to take more responsibility.
I do not think we can consistently challenge for honours with our current Props and for this reason Prop for me is a must recruit priority.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.
I agree on the prop side of thing, again though i think we're looking at 2011 for a top class prop to be a realistic target.
If we can sort out feka's conditioning it would be a great help for next season, the way he has gone after seeing pics of him playing for the New Zealand Warriors is quite simply shocking - he looks like a different player completely, and one which some of their fans would have in his NRL condition days over Fui Fui Moi Moi
He is right even if he is trying to get us to sign one of his players.
Next season we can win something if we do a wire and win the challenge cup or even go one game further than this year but we are not in a position to dominate a whole year and finish in the top 2, to do that we need good players.
MM had great players infact the best players in the world at Melbourne, he needs to build a team here.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS

It is simple. To some degree we have depth and cover for all positions on the park with a degree of quality except Prop. Our backs and back row make us competative, our hookers are up there with the best (piggy a bit fitter would not go a miss mind you), but we have little go forward from the big guys. Get Feka fitter - good start, get the fire in the belly of Fielden - even better, continue to develope Prescott - now we are getting somewhere, get a stone on O'barrell and play him - getting interesting, send Coley back to Salford or on to anyone else who will have him and we are looking good.
In a dream world we get Feka fit, lose Fielden and Coley and bring in Kite and FFMM. The ground would be packed to the rafters and sides would fear us.
Sadly getting rid of Fielden and Coley is 2011 but we can develope O'Barrell and Prescott and get Feka fit, which would be a start.

He didn't have the best players in the world in every position though, the salary cap ensures that - what the Storm have done very very well is build the best team, with a few key world class players and the remainder less so. They've also been good to spot where a player could deliver more than he was delivering for his current club and would be a good addition to their squad - e.g. Brett Finch.

Please name me a poor player from Melbourne?
We have around 3-4 players who just do not perform.
You are right they have built a team! They have some of the best players in the world in key positions and all the rest of the team are either very good players who would get into the England team or they are quality players who fit into the mould of what the team is trying to do.
I hope we look for a Brett Finch, someone at another super league club who has been a good player with loads of potential but just is not quite performing and won't cost a bomb. I hope we can find someone.
I also think we could go for a young player from another club who has potential. They could be our two signings for next season and we could add more deapth with just two signings.

I'm with Bilko, we need a halfback first, I'd leave prop till next season because Fielden, O'Carroll and Mossop should all be challenging for one spot so the odds are one will do us a good job this season. However, at present we don't have any good kickers close to the 17, bring in a halfback with a good kicking game, pair him with Sam and play Leuluai at hooker, sorted.

Oh I didn't mean for a second that they had poor players, just rather that their entire team are not all Inglis & Slater & Cronk & Cam Smith - hell even Cam Smith is not an athletically gifted genetic freak.
I was merely trying to get across exactly that point, that it's not about big signings across the park, it's about building and moulding a team into a superb well disciplined unit (the organisational play of the Storm has been superb, compare that with the off the cuff broken play brilliance of the Eels for example) and then developing those handful of game breakers like Inglis & Slater to take you that step further.
It's why i'm confident that we will, and should expect to see a reasonable amount more performance out of the personel we already have in place - we may need that small addition to make us great, but I think we can be a really good team even with the current player roster if we can get 100% out of all the players.
Slater, Inglis, Cronk, Cam Smith, Dallas Johnson interestingly have all played all of their first grade football for the Storm.
That's what I was trying to get at, that it's about how that all comes together and building a team, not just going out with the cheque book like a certain players agent feels is the main answer.

Tomkins x 3, O'Loughlin, Hansen, Prescott, O'Carroll, Ainscough, Farrell, Mello etc. not quite in the same class.
