Disagree, he's never a stand off but he's proved plenty times that he can be handy in the outside backs, personally I'd have him out on the wing with Hall on the other side with Eastmond and Senior (is he definitely available now? Would he be picked after medalgate?) at centre

At international level? When?

I must admit it's hard finding old GB match reports as they don't seem to be kept anywhere so my dates might be off but I recall him having a great series on the wing in '01 v Aus and I think it was the following year v NZ he was one of our better players too. I'm not saying he tore them apart or anything, very few GB players have, but he played very well nonetheless. I think he might have played wing in the '05 tri nations too but can't remember how he went on. He's always struck me as someone who's stood up at international level though even if I don't like him or think of him as a stand off.

When some folk were crying out for him to be included I said for me it would be in the centres so I can understand where you're coming from. We're aren't strong there and he's big, fast and strong.
I'm not so sure Smith will play him.

I think he's played in too many tests for Smith to disclude him now, we all know some of the same guys will always be back unless they hit diabolical form or turn 30, even then it's touch and go.
One of the most telling things about Leon Pryce is the way Union's interest has cooled. Two years ago he was going to be the next big defector. Now there's mention of it at all.

Pryce looks like he's heading the same way as Fielden. Played a lot of 1st team/international rugby early in his career and it's beginning to show in his legs. He'll do a job at SL level for the next couple of years but his match winning days are largely behind him.
