The pitch was wet

'Finally, a question. I would like to know is why they water the field every year for the Grand Final? It strikes me as being an extremely bizarre thing to do.

We play for the first few months in the rain and the slush, then have several summer months where conditions are usually dry, promoting a high quality of attacking rugby.

We then come to Old Trafford, where the sprinklers are busy at work on the pitch, making the ball slippy. That in turn tightens the game up because people are less willing to throw it around.

It doesn't give either team an advantage, just makes it a touch dull. It really is a weird one.'

The pitch at OT is a strange one, it is raised alot higher down the middle than it is at the edges to allow for drainage, as we all know it rains in Manchester 365 days of the year. The grass is a lot shorter at OT than most pitches as well, they probably watered it to stop it getting ripped up like Wembley does after every game, and United play Bolton at home on saturday.

Wilkin

How appropriate that he is whining about the play the ball being slowed down when his team are the past masters at it !

In my oprinion, Super League is a lot slower than it used to be.''

Sadly, I'm not sure if Wilkin is aware but under Potter we have played less quality attacking rugby than my team Eccleston Lions!

What a shame that a player I admire so highly  comes out week after week and year after year with such enlightening comments  and all the fans of Wigan can do is take the P*** out of him!

On the Other Hand!

The Jumped up, over rated, hides when the going gets tough, soon to be getting his commupence because he won't have great players around him to cover up his own lack of Ba11s, Can't believe I travelled to Australia to watch him play for England, Opens his mouth like a whinging school girl Media Whore Every time he loses! Pillock

Seems to be having another little Tantrum!

To be honest I'm getting quite used to looking forward to Excuse Sunday Every Year Now!

In light of his comments why didn't they use it to their advantage? Instead of kicking down Webbs throat everytime they got the chance?

hmmm

"The decisive score turned out to be Lee Smith's second try, which was awarded by the video referee.

Some think he was offside when Danny McGuire kicked through, but I don't think there was any controversy about the decision. Leeds won fair and square. When it is a close call, the benefit of the doubt has to go to the attacking team."

Not really a whinge is it?

What about the other bits of the article?

The bits where he complains about them Watering the Pitch!

I've seen you defending him on 3 different boards in the last 1/2 hour! It's not you is it Jon?

If it is how much did that Meal cost you last night?

You'll be having a moan about that next!
