Heyyy guys an outsider here.... not a wigan fan but a fan of rugby league. Was sat in the rugby club today after training and the topic came up about a former wigan player Chris Ashton, a good young player who again was stolen by the kick and clap game, how has his move to union gone????? Has he disapeared under the radar? Is a return to league on the cards???

Well he went for £140k per years so he will have to be very good to get a wage like that or be prepared to take a pay drop.
My mates a big union fan and I was asking him about Ashton, to see whether he'd be close to getting a spot in the England team. Apparantly he's not been doing too badly, but there's rumours in the union circles that he won't get into the England set up because he's a bit too cocky for his own good.
I've just looked on the Northampton site and he scored 41 tries in 28 matches (5 as sub) in his first season. He's played 44 games and 5 more as sub and scored 53 tries. so not a bad return at all.
The first season was in the division below the premiership, so it would have been easier for him to score a few tries, but he seems like he's there or there abouts in the Premiership too.
Was over rated even in League tbh. Big headed two-hat.

That is an amazing return!
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS
